  • Air Rarotonga Selects RTS ProfitOpt Solution
    • RTS is pleased to announce that Air Rarotonga, an airline based in Rarotonga, Cook Islands has selected RTS ProfitOpt as their passenger revenue management solution. With the implementation going live in October 2015, this adds to the growing family of airlines already using the RTS solution.

      With  Air Rarotonga selecting RTS ProfitOpt solution, RTS adds to its list of accomplishments in its long history of 32 years; first commercially available passenger airline revenue management solution developed for Republic Airways and first cargo price optimization solution for Virgin Atlantic Cargo.

      This also further provides impetus to RTS in its quest to be the revenue management solution of choice in the airline industry by incorporating cutting edge features and supporting a hosted solution that maximizes convenience while minimizing costs.

  • Mercator partners with RTS to provide integrated cargo revenue management solution for airlines
    • DUBAI, UAE & TEXAS, USA - 20 FEBRUARY, 2012 - Mercator, the commercial arm of Emirates Group IT, recently announced its plans to develop a fully integrated Cargo Revenue Management solution in partnership with US-based Revenue Technology Services (RTS).

      The partnership has enabled Mercator to strengthen its industry leading cargo solution, SkyChain. RTS and Mercator have developed the product to include new cargo revenue management capabilities. This has resulted in SkyChain becoming one of the world's first fully integrated cargo solutions. Airlines using SkyChain to manage their cargo operations will now benefit from being able to fully optimize costs, increase operational efficiencies and maximize revenues and profitability.

      Duncan Alexander, Vice President, Mercator said " We are thrilled with the partnership, because it allows us to be the first to offer our customers a cargo revenue management solution, which is tightly integrated with an airlines core booking and operations process. This is a significant step for the industry, as in effect does away with the current practice of integrating with 3rd party revenue management products and the large associated costs and overheads usually involved.       The demand forecasting, overbooking, allotment management, and bid price optimization engines from RTS revenue management software have been integrated within SkyChain to provide an integrated, web-based interface, end-to-end cargo solution.       The system is currently being implemented by SkyCargo, and is expected to go live in the first quarter of the year. Pradeep Kumar, Senior Vice President of Cargo at Emirates SkyCargo stated that "sales teams will have to work on a minimum-bid price basis, as no shipment falling below this threshold can generate a confirmation. This will influence sales technique and behaviour, and represent a huge cultural shift for our people in the field. They will have to explain it, in turn, to their customers.
